Applying a preload is a method of applying load to the steel ball in order to increase its diameter. By applying a negative gap between the steel ball and the bead, preload can be used to improve the rigidity of the linear slide and eliminate any potential gaps. Meanwhile increasing the preload can also lead to an increase in rigidity of the linear slide, as is shown in the figure. However, it is recommended that users use light preload on small scaled slides to avoid excessive preload which might reduce the service life.

The Rolling circulation system usually includes: slider, slide rail, end cover, steel ball and steel ball retainer. Furthermore, the Lubrication system is composed of nozzle and tubing connector, while the Dust-proof system consists of oil scraper, negative dust seal, dust rail t-rail bolt cover and metal scraper.
